How to look after autumn clothes: wool, flannel and velvet
Category: Tutorial

With the arrival of autumn, warmer, more structured fabrics make a return to the wardrobe.
Wool, flannel and velvet have very different characteristics, which is precisely why they should not all be treated in the same way.
Wool is a delicate fibre that can shrink or felt if washed incorrectly.
Some tips:
→ always check the care label
→ avoid sudden changes in temperature
→ do not wring the garment out vigorously
→ take care when drying
Flannel is soft and comfortable, but it can lose some of its characteristic texture if washed too vigorously.
Here too, it is important to follow the instructions on the label.
There are different types of velvet, and the fabric’s composition determines the type of care required.
Pressure, heat and repeated washing can alter its appearance.
For structured or particularly delicate garments, it is always best to avoid experimenting.
If the garment has significant stains, special linings, padding or different materials, professional treatment allows the garment to be assessed as a whole.
Every fabric has different characteristics, and there isn’t always a one-size-fits-all solution.
